Eine Luxusoase ohne Zweck - denn zwei Theaterwissenschaftler, die hier locker plaudernd auf dem Sofa Hobbes, Hegel, Agamben zitierend the state of the art erörtern wollten, sind kurzfristig abgesprungen ...

AND NOW? Dienstag, punkt 0 Uhr: Beginn der Übernahme ohne Vorbereitung. Die Raumvermessung, die Hausdurchschreitung, die Ortsbegehung. Der Raum wird versiegelt, geschlossene Gesellschaften 72 Stunden lang - invisible? Wird der Raum vermietet oder verkauft? Kommen Gäste? Oder schlafen wir uns einfach nur mal richtig aus?

UNFRIENDLY TAKEOVER folgt der Last Minute-Einladung von Kattrin Deufert und Thomas Plischke zur Übernahme des Ballsaals im Kunstencentrum Vooruit im Rahmen von B-Visible:

B-Visible will be a 72 hour laboratory between art theory and practice. The central theme of the event is 'queerness'. Queer can be best approached as a series of strategies that oppose the conventional hetero-normative pattern that defines and marks sex, sexuality and gender, rather than as a delineated theory or attitude.
B-Visible starts the night of 4 to 5 November at midnight and keeps continuing until the night from 7 to 8 November midnight. In this time space of 3 x 24 hours curators Kattrin Deufert, Jeroen Peeters and Thomas Plischke examine together with 50 international artists/theoretists by the way of queerness diverse strategies of visibility in performance. The laboratorium occupies the whole Vooruit building and gives a platform to interventions, installations, lectures, workshops, debates and this in very diverse disciplines. Vooruit will be an open house during 72 hours: to see the group of artists at work, to watch the Vooruit crew sleep in the beds in the Theatre hall, to get you served by the (in)visible waiter at the Cafe, to even reverse your bio-rhythm or to participate actively at the diverse workshops... everyone can set up his or her own programme and is welcome during 72 hours. Space for cooperation and conflict, restlessness and party. In short: space to become B-Visible!
